Pre A1 Starters is the first level of Cambridge English: Basic Examination (YLE). The assessment content includes three parts: listening, reading, writing and speaking. Each part can earn up to 5 shields. This course is designed to comprehensively prepare students for Pre A1 Starters.

What you will learn:

  • Vocabulary list: Each pre-recorded course will teach different vocabulary words that must be understood by Pre A1 Starters. In addition to knowing the meaning of each word, students also need to know how to pronounce and dictate these. They can all be learned in the classroom, and parents can also use the vocabulary list to follow up for their children.
  • Practice worksheets: Once you have learned the vocabulary, you must also know how to use it. We will provide practice worksheets, through different exercises, so that students can remember the vocabulary more deeply and understand how to use it.
  • Mock test papers: We will customize reading and writing mock test papers for students to practice according to their progress, so that students can become familiar with the test pattern early and be more comfortable when the test comes.
  • Real-time courses: In addition to conducting conversational exercises with students, we will also follow up on learning progress to provide appropriate suggestions to parents.
  1. When should my child start taking official practice tests?
We strongly recommend parents to purchase official mock test papers. With sufficient practice, students will be more proficient in taking exams. The official mock test papers are available in major bookstores. We recommend that parents only let their children practice the official mock test papers after completing this course, so as to prevent their children from being unable to complete the test without any preparation and thus losing confidence.

  1. My child is weak in crosswords, how can I help them?
We recommend that students review 5-10 words every day and try to avoid reviewing too many words at once, otherwise the effectiveness will be reduced. When revising words, you should try to use the pinyin method to reduce recitation, because the memorized stringing method is difficult to enter into long-term memory and is easily confused. For example, students may string “bird” into “brid”.

  1. Is there any follow-up after the mock test paper is marked?
We will provide reference answers for each mock test paper to facilitate parents and even students to make corrections by themselves. If you need to follow up, parents can WhatsApp the mock test paper to 66869695 after correction, and we will follow up with the students in real-time classes.
